Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s Agricultural Program will hold its first L.E.A.F. workshop for the spring, Equine End of Life- the Hardest Decision of Horse Ownership, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at Jamestown Community College’s Carnahan Center.
The class offers an opportunity to learn about preparing for end-of-life decisions, including equine end of life considerations, choices for humane equine euthanasia and viable options for carcass disposal. Discussion of planning for equine care upon death of an owner will also be discussed. Dr. Karin D. Bump will lead the session. Bump is director of Saddle Up NY and the founder and executive director of the National Association of Equine Affiliated Academic. She is also a partner of Equine Education Network: EQUUS Foundation, a contributor to Equine Academics and a certified Business Mentor.
