Former Louisiana football running back Emani Bailey is returning home to Texas.
Bailey revealed his plan three days after entering the NCAA transfer portal.
“I would like to announce (I) will be going to TCU to continue the mission,” he wrote Sunday on Twitter.
Bailey is a product of Ryan High in Denton, which is about 40 miles away from where TCU is located in Fort Worth.

Less than an hour after Bailey posted his intentions, his younger brother, Jordyn Bailey, announced his commitment to TCU on Twitter.
A slot receiver from Ryan High, Jordyn Bailey is an unranked recruit according to 247Sports Composite. He also had offers last season from Memphis, Houston and North Texas, and ones earlier last year from Texas Tech, UTSA and Colorado.
Emani Bailey was part of UL’s three-man running backs rotation last season along with freshman Montrell Johnson Jr., who also is in the transfer portal, and starter Chris Smith.
Bailey is among five prominent Cajuns who’ve entered the portal this month, along with Johnson, receiver Kyren Lacy, starting right guard O’Cyrus Torrence and starting cornerback Mekhi Garner.
Bailey ran 95 times for 615 yards and eight touchdowns over 11 games in 2021, his second season at UL. He missed three games due to minor midseason knee surgery, but returned later in the year and rushed 17 times for 94 yards and two touchdowns during UL’s New Orleans Bowl win over Marshall in December.
After the bowl win, Cajuns quarterback Levi Lewis presented his bowl MVP trophy to Bailey.
Both TCU and UL have new coaches, with TCU hiring former SMU, Cal and Louisiana Tech coach Sonny Dykes to replace the fired Gary Patterson and UL promoting tight ends coach/co-offensive coordinator Michael Desormeaux after Billy Napier left for Florida.
