Joan D. Jinsky, age 92, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation for relatives and friends will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Sunday (with a rosary service at 7:00 P.M.) and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
Joan was born January 4, 1929 in Wisconsin Rapids to Arthur and Grace (Peterson) Rasmussen. She married Leonard “Bud” Jinsky on July 1, 1950 in Iowa. He passed away on September 21, 1991.
Joan worked at Johnson Hills department store in Wisconsin Rapids, was a telephone operator for Wood County Telephone Company for many years, and worked as a secretary for Mid-State Technical College until her retirement.
Joan loved to travel, shop, read and crochet. She and Leonard were active members of the Grand Rapids Lions Club for many years. After Bud passed away, she became a member of the Wisconsin Rapids Lioness Club where she was also very active.
Joan is survived by five children: Kathy (Bill) Dachel, Carol (Dan) Baierl, and Jack (Mary Sue) Jinsky all of Wisconsin Rapids, Karen (Tracy) Lewis of Palmetto, FL, and Rob (Amy Friday) Jinsky of Port Edwards; 13 grandchildren: Amy (Dale) Green, Bryan (Brie) Dachel, Kelly Baierl (Bryan Link), Kari (Eric) Van Ert, Kristy (Dale) Ninneman, Justin (Emily) Jinsky, Susan Harvey, Amy Gaulke, Emily (Peter) Biondo, Stephanie (Andy) Butler, Elijah Jinsky, Phaedra Jinsky, and Matthew Friday; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Alan (Elva) Rasmussen of Texas; and one sister, Sarah (Dick) Skiba of Colorado.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Bud; brother Jerry Rasmussen; and great-grandson Jared Dachel.
Memorials may be designated to the Grand Rapids Lions Club.
