Sheffield United receive Enda Stevens boost as wing-back returns in under-23s game
Sheffield United wing-back Enda Stevens came through his first 45 minutes in two months with no problems today in a major boost for the club’s promotion hopes.
The Republic of Ireland international has not played for the Championship club since the 2-2 draw at Preston North End on January 18 due to a calf problem.
With United recently without 11 outfield players through injury, Stevens’ return in Tuesday afternoon’s Under-23s victory over Colchester United was a big positive.

Chelsea likely to fetch highest price ever paid for a sports team after more than 20 parties make bids
Chelsea are likely to fetch the highest price ever paid for a sports club or franchise after more than 20 interested parties made bids for the Premier League side last week.
Current owner Roman Abramovich put Chelsea up for sale on March 2, six days after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine started. The 55-year-old oligarch appointed New York-based merchant bank Raine Group to run the sales process and it is understood that he was hoping for a figure north of £3.5 billion.
That, however, looked unlikely when he was added to the British government’s list of sanctioned individuals on March 10, due to what it described as his longstanding and close relationship with Russia’s president Vladimir Putin.

Rangers accuse 1872 fans’ group of launching ‘propaganda war’ against club
Rangers have accused a “small rump” of their fanbase of being “intent on causing damage to our club” and launching a “propaganda war”.
The Scottish Premiership club’s statement comes after Club 1872, an influential shareholders grouping, questioned the “judgment, competency and honesty” of the executive team, in the wake of Rangers’ decision to play a friendly match against Celtic in Sydney later this year.
Rangers’ decision to play in the exhibition has been incredibly unpopular, with fans protesting the decision at recent fixtures.
But the club have argued in a statement that the protests have an ulterior motive.

Trippier and Wilson ‘on schedule’ in recovery
Newcastle United pair Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson are on track in their recovery from serious injuries.
Both players have missed several games through injury but were included in Newcastle’s travelling squad for their warm-weather training camp in Dubai during the international break as they continued their rehabilitation.
Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe provided a fitness update on the injured duo on Tuesday, with Trippier missing for six Premier League games with a left foot injury and Wilson absent for 10 with a calf problem.
“I’d say they’re on schedule from where they were given their respective injuries, but I wouldn’t say necessarily ahead of schedule,” Howe said.

Louis van Gaal tests positive for COVID-19
Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal has tested positive for COVID-19, disrupting his team’s preparations for friendly internationals against Denmark and Germany.
Van Gaal’s team have already qualified for the Qatar World Cup after they topped Group G with 23 points.
It is not the first time Van Gaal has missed crucial preparation time with the Netherlands team. In November, the former Manchester United boss had to be driven to training in a golf cart after he injured his hip in a bicycle accident.

A thorough rebuild is needed at Leeds this summer
Leeds have been riddled with injuries this season — twice as many as other Premier League teams.
Parting ways with Marcelo Bielsa was arguably a little late but Jesse Marsch does still have time to turn things around.
Either way, no matter what division Leeds are in next season, they are in need of a thorough rebuild.
