Spirit Airlines said Wednesday it will begin nonstop seasonal service between Milwaukee and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, starting in May.
Starting May 27, Spirit plans to offer nonstop flights from Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport to Myrtle Beach twice a week on Fridays and Mondays. The airline plans to expand the service to three times per week — Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays — beginning June 17.
“These new flights are a fast and reliable way to enjoy a family vacation along the Atlantic seaboard,” said Brian Dranzik, airport director at Milwaukee Mitchell. “With the addition of Myrtle Beach, it’s clear that Spirit is responding to customer demand from Milwaukee.”
The flights are scheduled through Labor Day weekend and tickets are available to purchase now on spirit.com or on the Spirit Airlines app.
The new flights also give South Carolina residents an opportunity to travel to Wisconsin.
Myrtle Beach is the ninth nonstop destination for Spirit from Milwaukee.
The airline launched its Milwaukee service in June of 2021, with daily nonstop flights between Milwaukee and Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Orlando. By the end of 2021, Spirit was also flying nonstops between Milwaukee and Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Tampa, Phoenix and Cancun.
