Sutton struck out 16 on 117 pitches to gain the win.

HANOVERTON — Samantha Lippiatt had three hits and scored four runs as United topped Lisbon, 9-2, in Thursday’s season opener.
Joshlynn Irey contributed two hits and two RBIs, Makaylah Craig two hits and one RBI, Brielle Rose two hits and Tori Firth and Mati Zines each had RBI singles.
Firth struck out 14 and scattered three hits in the complete-game victory.
McKenna Dailey paced the Blue Devils with a double and a single. Justyce Vrabel had the other hit.

Ronni Mayfield had a pair of singles in the second game for the Indians.
